About Karichal
This beautiful village is located at the south of Veeyapuram Panchayat in Karthikappally taluk, Alappuzha District. From the Haripad Subrahmanya Swamy temple it is lying 1km north. Also this magnificent landscape is spread into 3 wards from Kalayankulangara Devi temple to Karichal Kadavu. This is mainly an agricultural zone. There are three temples, churches and so many small family temples in this place. So we can call it is the “Gods own place”. More than that 1 palace ( Chemrol Palace) and two family temples (Ambakkattu kottaram, Karippolil kottaram) are situated in this village.

The famous Payippadu Jalolsavam also took place at here in the Achankovil river. Peoples celebrated the Aswathy Day in Malayalam Meena Masam as the Birth day of Kalayamkulangara Devi and this day is called the “Aswathy Utsavam”. People from all communities and caste are participated in this festival. In the part of Dharmasastha temple of Sasthamuri was enroll by Chembrol palace. Now it is under the Devwaswam Board. The specialty of this temple is the Makara Sankrama Festival. There is a belief for increasing the richness of “Karichal Village”, which is the presence of "Sree Mahavishnu temple", Thrivikramapuram at Kaippallil Junction. The people have been celebrating the festival in God Sree Krishna’s Birth day (Ashtamirohini).

The prayers and belief’s of famous chuches like St: Mary’s Malankara Suriyani church, St: George Orthodox church, Holy family church (Kollam rupatha) , Pentecostal Mission and two Sreenarayana Guru temples have been increasing the richness of karichal village.By considering the educational institutions, St: Mary’s UP School, St: George LP School and Abert Grigary English medium School (ICSE syllabus) are the famous one.

By Train
Unfortuantely there is no rail line in this village. The nearest railway station is Haripad. If you come by Train, you have to take a Bus,Taxi or Auto from the station. ( Railway station to Bus station just 1/2kms)
